Don Anderson has more than twenty years of experience in technology sales, marketing and leadership as well as developing and operating a wide variety of businesses. He now specializes in driving revenue growth in small businesses and technology start-ups.

As the EVP, Marketing and a Member of the Board of Directors of Gumstix, Inc, a rapidly growing Palo, Alto, California-based technology company, Don leads the marketing and public relations efforts, worldwide. Gumstix is making an impact in the worlds of telephony, network appliances, education, robotics and embedded computing with their small, efficient computer platforms, waysmall computers and netstix computers.

Until 2005, Don also managed Searchworks Marketing in the field of online advertising. Searchworks creates a revenue stream for active web sites not otherwise capable of leveraging their monthly site traffic into income.

In 2003, Don became Director of SMB Marketing at McAfee, by way of the Deersoft acquisition. His worldwide team formed McAfee's new "Small & Medium Business (SMB) Segment Marketing strategy". He also worked with McAfee on the integration of Deersoft's server-based spam filter into McAfee's SpamKiller product line and into their Channel Marketing organization.

In 2002, California-based Deersoft, Inc. converted the popular open-source spam filter, SpamAssassin, into commercial products for MS Outlook and MS Exchange. As Director of Marketing and Channel Sales, Don grew sales from zero to a $1M run-rate in less than 7 months. He also built a team of enthusiastic Deersoft Resellers from Seattle to Denver to Boston. Network Associates, Inc. (McAfee) purchased Deersoft, Inc. in January, 2003.

Over the prior 16 years, Don held or continues to hold senior and executive positions in the technology firms of gumstix, Deersoft, netFuturi, Voice Mobility and IBM Canada, where he worked for 12 years in the telecommunications and insurance sectors.

Outside of the technology sector, Don has founded and managed several companies. He currently runs an income-property investment firm and a mortgage financing business. Don is a Board Member and the Vice-President of Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club. As Chairman of the Badminton Program at Vancouver Lawn, Don works extensively with Head Badminton Pro, Ram Nayyar.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Don is an active sportsman and has extensively travelled the world. He volunteers many hours of his time both in the sport of badminton and coaching in the Kerrisdale Soccer Association. Don holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Naval Architecture) from the University of British Columbia.
